Pros

Free breakfast and lunch, open PTO, casual dress

Cons

This job started out really exciting but now it's obvious there is nothing left for me here. It's mostly busy work that is not challenging or inspiring so you get burned out quickly. A lot of people have great ideas to increase efficiency but they fall on deaf ears, so it seems like there is no end to the inefficiency. The rest of the week is just meetings that don't result in much of anything and I honestly don't see the point. At best, your Team Lead will put you on a project that you spend months on that ends up going nowhere. The pay is already on the low end for the Austin market and you can only get a very small raise once a year. The only growth opportunity is to become a Team Lead so if you don't want to manage people this is basically a dead end job.

Pros

Free Food. That’s about it.

Cons

This job is a joke. It might seem good to someone new in the industry but this company is managed by immature sales people who got promoted because they have good numbers but have no idea how to run a team. They basically work you to death till they spit you out to hire some other young person who doesn’t know what they are doing. Oh and unlimited PTO is a joke too. It is not. It is basically just an out so they don’t have to pay you PTO when you leave. And will only approve your PTO if you are a favorite, so unless you suck up, don’t count on it. THEY ARE CHEAP! Oh and here is a big secret. Don’t put your two weeks notice in until the day you want to leave. They ask you to leave that day, with 2 weeks pay, which is nice. But if you leave before the quarter is over you WILL NOT RECIEVE ANY OF YOUR BONUS!!!! Not one cent! I saw someone put in their notice be sent home that day, end of quarter was 1 week away and they did not pay bonus because they wouldn’t let him stay to complete the quarter!! BEWARE OF THEM STEALING YOUR COMMISSION!!!!!!

We appreciate the time you have taken to leave us a review about your experience working at Indeed. As a current employee, it’s alarming for us to hear that you have such a negative opinion about your job. We’d like to comment on a few of the things you have mentioned in your review. We can assure you that we regularly review and update Company Guidelines. These are available to all employees at all times via our HR Information System. While we can’t speak to your specific circumstances, bonuses at Indeed are discretionary and paid consistently with state and federal guidelines. Packages are outlined in all offers of employment, and commissions are paid monthly based on payments received while employed at Indeed. All commission eligible employees can track and have transparent visibility to the payments they receive and therefore commission earned and what gets paid to them. Open PTO (Paid Time Off) is a benefit for everyone and we want employees to make sure they take time off to relax and recharge, If you’re having recurring issues discussing PTO approval with your manager, please reach out to your HR business partner, or use the email address below. We take feedback from our employees extremely seriously and would ask that you speak to your local HR Business Partner or email us at inside@indeed.com so we can talk further about your experience.

Pros

Benefits, catered lunches, nice building

Cons

I would have gladly traded every free lunch, every free snack, and every day of unlimited PTO for a genial, approachable team leader as opposed to the nongenial, wholly unsupportive, unapproachable, abrasive, snarky boss I had. This jerk could have written, produced, directed, and starred in Horrible Bosses 1 and 2 (and any other sequels). I understand she is no longer with the company. Good. I'm sure the office is more pleasant now. Too bad that she didn't leave before I got there. I needed some ramping up to help me learn the processes that Indeed used for their job cataloguing efforts. I asked my boss to sit down and work with me for a little bit on this. She refused to do so, even after she expressed her displeasure that I wasn't up to speed with the processes, claiming that it, and I quote, "isn't my job to teach." Excuse me? Then how do you expect me to understand the processes? I wasn't asking her to teach me to use a computer, and this wasn't something I could just look up on the Internet. I was asking her to help me understand the processes so that I could be a more useful team member and do well at my job. And if it isn't your job to teach, it should be considered your job to help ensure that a team member is trained properly. And if that is too much to ask for, you shouldn't be in a supervisory role. It is mind boggling and beyond comprehension that this was refused. Even the worst boss I had prior to this jerk didn't refuse to help me get up to speed on what was needed to do my job well. This horrible excuse for a boss did teach me one thing though. She taught me what a truly toxic work situation was all about. I had never been in such a situation before; hopefully, I never will be again. That said, I observed teams and team leaders around me, and they seemed to enjoy genial chemistry and were having fun. I wish I would have had one of those team leaders rather than the jerk of a boss I had. Any of them would have worked with me to help me get up to speed, and that would have made for a great job.
