Best place I've worked

Pros

I've been working at Indeed for close to a year and its one of the best jobs I've had. Some of the reasons why its so good, ongoing training and support to help you succeed in the sales role. Fun place to work, lots of external events and activities planned. Stocked pantry, catered lunches and breakfast as well as Friday Happy Hour. Work life balance, supportive and encouraging environment.

Cons

Diversity is lacking, there are hardly any Aussies working here. There are a few negative people in the sales team which can make it slightly frustrating at times coming into the office however the majority of the team is very focused and driven to succeed, so try to stay away from the negative ones. A good thing is that a lot of the negative people are slowly leaving.

A Tale of Two Managers

Pros

1. Simple product (I mean that as a huge compliment) that capitalised on an emerging trend in a woefully inefficient industry. 2. Smart execs leading the company. 3. Great focus on solving for the job seeker.

Cons

My experience at Indeed truly was a tale of two managers. The first one had a clear vision and goals for the team, was emphatetic, a good communicator and valued autonomy. Unsurprisingly, they got promoted, and someone who was technically good at their job, but a poor leader was appointed to replace them. Classic case of being promoted to your level of incompetence. The second manager unfortunately was a poor leader, mistrusting and micromanaged, which created a bad atmosphere within the team. Retention soon became an issue - many new hires to this team left within weeks, I hung in for a few more months, and I gather, by the end of the year, the remaining team members had departed.
