Pros

Benefits - I think this is the one big thing why so many people have stuck to Indeed since they first began. Free food - all the time , breakfast, lunch, snacks Open PTO Balanced life (unless you are unlucky to get a lazy lead/ manager who would play politics to keep himself safe) Work from Home relaxed environment Diversity Great Happy hours Lots of freebies and tees Engineering teams might be better not sure though.

Cons

Products are not really planned and implemented well. Every person who needs to prove himself starts a new product/ application leading to redundancy, confusion Lack of a well defined process Lack of documentation Most of teams are new and have been in existence since 2015 mid. Hence have all the problems a new process would face and so would the team members.

Pros

Weekly happy hours, daily lunches (if you work in Austin anyway), constant communication from top. Successfully growing company.

Cons

Rah-rah culture makes it feel like a cult. Most employees are very young and immature, picture college. Work-life balance is awful, this is a 24/7/365 workplace. Expect to be constantly connected, they love taking advantage of younger employees who don't know any better both in terms of workable hours and pay. Certain departments are disproportionately compensated but they've corrected this problem with new hires in the last few years creating a huge compensation gap between old & new. Many older employees are stuck there knowing they can't move on without taking a pay cut. Once the company was sold off to Recruit, everything went downhill. Upper management loves to take credit for original founders' successes, rarely take into consideration their own employees. If you like doing kegstands every thursday, this is the place for you!

We're disappointed to hear that your past experience at Indeed didn't meet your expectations. As with any growing company, things have and will continue to change. We understand that creating an equal atmosphere of in-office perks is sometimes difficult to achieve internationally, even regionally, and we are constantly striving to make our employees feel appreciated. We invite you to email inside@indeed.com so we can learn more about your experience and investigate these concerns. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
