Pros

I help people find jobs. And I love that mission. I truly believe Indeed is a great company and would recommend it to others. I'm completely behind the CEO and senior leadership's vision. I love the product team with which I work. They're wonderful and bright people.

Cons

The marketing org is more political and corporate than those of my past companies. What I mean by that is there is clear downward pressure in the way management instructs which results in a stronger feeling of being micromanaged as a cog than in other tech companies at which I've worked. Don't talk to directors directly, and ask your manager to talk to their manager to talk to them. Be prepared to get your work reviewed every rung of the way up to the top of marketing only for it to get completely scrapped at the end, wasting months of time in middle management churn. My manager has been friends with their manager for years before Indeed, introducing an awkward social dynamic where I don't think all the checks and balances are in place for objective discussion. I do not recommend the product marketing team.

Pros

good benefits, breakfast & lunch everyday

Cons

complete lack of growth structure, UNDERPAID, no recognition for hard work. no incentive to be a productive employee since it's impossible to grow and the management doesn't realize or care how much it affects analysts livelihoods

Worst company I’ve ever worked at

Pros

There no longer are any pros.

Cons

- WLB has gone down the drain since the layoffs (which were very poorly handled) - Minimal transparency from leadership that often changes their mind - TERRIBLE HR (which is ironic for an HR tech company), in R&D they’re incompetent and have 0 concern for employees, and only look out for managers/leadership - Pay is poor despite many of us constantly flagging for indeed leadership how a lot of our peers are struggling to survive and feed their families on this salary (CS and Benefits team members, in particular, meanwhile HR is dramatically overpaid for the LITTLE that they do). - Tech is severely out dated, in many orgs we are using tech that is over 20 years old - ZERO foresight from leadership to work on innovative tech that would differentiate us in the industry, since leaders are very shortsighted and have been for a long time. - Many people are overworked and burnt out (aside from HR that does little, can’t stress this enough) and the company does little to address this. Instead they took away the only benefit that gave us all some relief. - Impossible promotion process, which is now even more difficult despite the propaganda that it has changed for the better. - QUARTERLY reviews where you have to PROVE that you are doing your job rather than actually being reviewed by your manager. - Colleagues who have been here for way too long are constantly trying to convince you in a rather forward, unrealistic way that indeed is great and create a toxic culture that fails to acknowledge any changes for the better
