Pros

Flexible schedule and ability to work from anywhere. Many great peers to work with.

Cons

12-14hr days are expected of US employees. Work with customer all day and talk to India late into the night. Company has never seen a downturn until now and the managment does not know what to do, so they do nothing. The middle management is the worst I have ever seen - abusive, arrogant, and simply spew the party line instead of working toward a better company. Too many systems and processes that add no value.

Pros

As a freshman you are put into all kinds of roles and hence you learn a lot. The pay is good for a freshman too. The company is fair in its pay and benefit related dealings.

Cons

Non existent career planning. You are expected to do ANY task that is available irrespective of your expertise. Very very poor quality of project execution. Often does not receive a favorable rating of the client. The management is very poor in communication and extremely unprofessional. The work ethics is poor. It is in the system to expect employees to be available for work 24 hours a day. Very poor quality of the work force. Un-smart, shabby and poor quality engineers are rampant in the company.

Pros

Infosys consulting is not your typical management consulting firm. Its pretty young compared to the other big 4 firms out there, and its been running as a fluid organization for a while. In an organization thats still young and small - theres always an opportunity to make your mark. The organization untill last year has been pretty flat, so there are a lot of chances for folks to be heard, and influence progress. Infosys really tries to hire the best of breed consultants - MBAs from top colleges or individuals who have specific domain or industry experience. This really raises the caliber of people that you work and what you can expect from your colleagues. I've noticed that the people are a lot more down to earth, informal, witty and not your typical consulting douche-bags (with the express look and the 'I'm better than you' attitude') - you can definately expect your peers and management to be more 'human'. I've recieved some phenomenal coaching from my senior management along my career at infosys. I really believe my senior management has my back when it comes to my career.

Cons

Work life balance - like all consulting firms, you can expect to work the 20-80+ hours weeks - thats why they pay you the big bucks. Compensation and benefits are not as competitive to other management consulting firms (BCG, McKinsey), but supposedly more competitive than TCS and Wipro. Leadership communication around compensation has been historically poor but this is being addressed. There are still some integration issues between the consulting unit and the parent company. Don't expect to get a lot of training when you come into this firm. Don't expect to get your much of your target bonus either. Lots of operational issues that affect consultants (I would categorize this as growing pains for a company that is growing at a phenomenal rate).
