Pros

Ingram has a lot of awesome people. They are super friendly and helpful but of course, there are a few crappy ones, you just have to learn not to take things personal. Other than that it's a great place to work for if you're willing to test your limits and gain experience in different areas. I always like the fast-paced environment but at Ingram, it's rapid paced. I am lucky to have good bosses here and I know it doesn't happen to everyone so I might be a little biased.

Cons

It's a lot of politics but tell me which company doesn't have politics? People don't get promoted for hard work but it only means you got to improve your interpersonal skills. Hard work alone won't often get people far at any company not just Ingram.

Pros

Free lunches on occasion (note: these are provided by manufacturers, not Ingram), excellent coworkers who keep the place running,

Cons

Great if you want to stay in the same role forever. Not for someone who actually wants to advance their career. You'll be happy up until mid-level, but anything beyond that and Ingram will prioritize outside hires over internal promotions by way of weird on-paper job requirements. Ingram has a lot byzantine HR rules in place to make it difficult to impossible to advance yourself or even change departments. They assign jobs a number grade, and then tweak every department so just enough grades are non-assigned that any lateral move becomes either a demotion or an unrealistic multi-level jump. Even ENTRY LEVEL field jobs list field experience as a mandatory requirement, so HR won't even let tenured inside employees interview for them half the time. To go from inside to outside, on paper, you will find it easier to quit and return. Which has become a very popular career path in the building, leading to a revolving door of sorts.

Pros

With 26 PTOs in a year, great HMO provider, offers company emergency loan, continuing education program, and family day every Summer where they pay for 2 heads.

Cons

Associates within the same team and with same process do not have equal distribution of workload, you can see others slacking off while others are swamped with tasks. Lacks development trainings and chance for advancement. A lot to improve on the tools that associates use. Management focuses so much on cost saving than developing/purchasing tools to make jobs efficient. Not adding people even if workers are already stretched, again focusing on cost saving.
