Intel *could* be a great place to work, given the right circumstances and depending on your point of view.
Pros
Intel Corp. is a well known global company. Just mentioning that you work for Intel will automatically earn you respect. Intel's large capital reserves as well as duration in the market gives a good feeling of stability. Quarterly updates from senior management will help you spot trends in sales of products and help give you an idea about where the company is headed. Total Compensation is very competitive. Intel offers great health benefits with lots of alternatives to choose from. 401k contributions are not matched, but Intel will contribute a certain percentage of your salary to your 401k regardless of your contributions. Bonuses come regularly. The amount will vary depending on profitability of the company, but you can almost count on them.
Cons
Everyone has a cubicle. Thinks makes your working environment extremely susceptible to noise and other distractions. The cubes are small (6ft x 8ft for most people) compounding the interruption possibilities. Base Pay (what most people look at in compensation) is lower than a lot of other companies out there. If you don't have an "on top of it" manager, you and your entire team will get overlooked for significant raises. Some of the best benefits for working for Intel are also part of its downside. Large companies don't always respond well to changes in the marketplace. Besides that, its hard to find a parking spot when your competing with a few thousand other people.
