Pros

Challenging work. Training opportunities. Global travel. There is a certain pride in saying you work for Intel even with the recent antitrust activities against Intel. I have a great manager and, if you have one of those, then life can be very good.

Cons

Having to defend it all the time because of all the anti-trust suits. Long hours are expected and not rewarded. Little support for alternative work schedules or telecommuting. First level managers can be excellent, but 2nd level managers have always lacked any type of skill.

Pros

I love working with cutting edge technology - it's exciting tobe involved in a company that is creating rpoducts of the future. I also appreciate the opportunity to create my own job. I get to decide what my team needs and I'm given the authority and responsibility to go out and create it - how cool is that?? I also very much appreciate the flexible work schedule.

Cons

I do work very hard and have long hours. Sometimes the "hurry up we needthis right now" is exhausting. Lack of planning on the others part causes me to have to run around like crazy and if I push back I'm considered not a team player. Additionally, there is so much change half the time I have to abandon projects because they are no longer relevant. Lack of stability is an issue.

Pros

Even in a slowing economy, studies have shown that people will not give up their computers or internet connectivity. Intel creates a viable product with a global footprint that allows it to be competative even during harder times. Innovation and creativity is reflected in the companies 80% market share, and management understands it is the employees that make this happen. Benefits are market competative, opportunity is greater than anywhere I have seen. Great products, bright future, and being rewarded fairly makes Intel a great place to work.

Cons

Intel hires the brightet people in the industry. Advanced degrees are par for the course, those degrees (in most cases) coming from tier one universities. If you are looking to stand our immediately or be a big fish in a small pond, it is very hard to do here.
