Really Interesting Work

Pros

I see a lot more variety of tax client than I did when I owned my own tax office. In many ways it is more interesting, I am not responsible for sighing other peoples tax returns. I give them legal and proper guidance. Sometimes I do tax returns but TT makes sure everything is documented. Most people are surprisingly pleasant. If you want to climb the corporate ladder there are plenty of opportunities. If you just want to keep your hand in after retirement from accounting you can do that too.

Cons

Work from home is still work. You have to show up on time and do a proper job. Compared to face to face tax prep it is very pleasant.
