Pros

On best companies to work for list. It's a sham as the numbers are doctored and only include employee responses for those that still work for the company. If all the numbers were included, the company's ranking would drop tremendously. Would love to see the ranking for in just the SF Bay Area.

Cons

Most people in management (Menlo Park & Mountain View) at Director level and above are incompetent. If you are applying for a job in Analytics or Marketing, think twice. No one that leads those organizations know what they are doing and have very little experience in those areas.

They pay well and have good benefits

Cons

At one time, the culture was all about doing right by the customer. Sadly that's not case today. Today's it's all about the bottom line and navigating office politics. To make worse, it's difficult to build a working relationship with your boss, as they love to restructure the organization every 12-18 months. Even if you are doing the same job, you likely won't have the same boss at the end of the year that started with. I personally had 15 different bosses over 6.5 years.

Cons

Management by slogan Middle managers often don't know what it actually going on in their groups Promotion is by politics and not work output Business units are siloed and even within a BU people don't work together towards a common goal
