Pros

Good Health and 401k Benefits Decent time off

Cons

Old technology. Politics, extreme posturing, people wasting your time and showboating so they can get ahead. Recruiters lie about how much of a bonus you get. Not a good move for young technologists, don't learn much. They just want you for the young people numbers. Houston building is terrible, maybe other locations are better. Dim and depressing. Working from home strongly discouraged.

The Twinkle Effect

Pros

Great brand name, a well respected CEO, decent work-life-balance for some, loads of valuable training available for you to partake in your spare time and inapplicable mandatory training also, tech certification programs, solid work opportunities in the robotics space, ability to join new projects, and loads of opportunity to move around if you are lucky enough to get into the right cliche. Even though the company is not leading the industry in salaries, the pay/benefits are not bad and they have programs to support education, new mothers, etc.

Cons

After you get past the cool building amenities, hand crafted job titles that misrepresent the actual job, meaningless HR surveys, beautifully packaged propaganda about training and supporting employee development, diversity, and doing the right thing.... well there's not much substance to it all... like eating a Twinkle. It looks good, taste good, but there's little nutritional value. There's an unsettling amount of organizational changes, more than a reasonable amount and with little notice and no explanation. The internal pay/promotion structure is a Rubik's Cube that tilts slightly left of reasonable and is shrouded in secrecy, despite the masses repeatedly asking for the full picture. Basically the company is made of various groups and levels of management either doing their best to do what they think is right, doing what they think makes them look good, or doing what they want because there's little accountability for bad behavior or poor performance in management. There are good managers there, you just have to find them and hold on so if you just want a job or a resume builder, this should work.

Pros

Depending on team, can work from home. Great Software Engineer program for 2 years to learn. My manager is fantastic but horror stories for others. Free coffee and tea.

Cons

Pay for software engineers way below average. (I know money isn't everything but they are way below average.) Old technologies and very boring. Looks like a bunch of old people where everyone hates their life. Very cheap company when it comes to snacks, etc...
