A consulting firm willing to expand but not completely managing to do so

Smart colleagues. Workplace quality. Salary in the higher quartile among strategy consulting firms. Solid training programme deployed across all offices.

Cons

Very little clear feedback given during and after an engagement. Extremely political consulting firm. Too much confidence given to managers who will decide on your future in the firm. Poor international exposure. Little collaboration with other offices to leverage worldwide presence.

Pros

Kearney is a terrific place to learn. Good people are welcomed and used in roles they can grow and direct themselves. The firm is full of very talented and driven people and the brand is well respected, particularly within supply chain.

Cons

work-life balance isn't high on the agenda and this is a very personality led business. For the best leaders, and there are some terrific ones, read good time - for the worst read frustration, unreasonable expectations, over-selling, under resourcing etc.

There is a lot of scope to learn about retail strategy as Kearney is very strong in this area in India.

Cons

Incredible amount of politics that goes on, some senior managers lack integrity, which reflects in their interaction with clients and junior employees. Some lateral hires from L&T are not professional at all, and unfortunately enforce a climate of fear, that prohibits employees from doing their best and encourages them to look at other opportunities.
