Pros

Lots of great coworkers, people are always willing to help out. Awesome benefits as far as time off and flexibility. For the most part no one looking over your shoulder all the time.

Cons

Some bad policies in HR and throughout departments keep people in positions that are a bad fit, when there are better opportunities. Even if another dept. wants you, you may not be able to leave. Way too many decisions are based on some VPs new idea to show that he/she is working toward the corporate goal for the year. This usually means changes are driven by people who don't understand the business at ground level, and efforts to improve from the ground up run into resistance from risk averse middle management.

Pros

Great people, large office space, free coffee and nice location

Cons

When I was hired as a contractor I was told there was a chance of going permanent after 3 months. It couldn't be farthest from the truth. No one gets hired permanently, they just recycle through contractors toying with people's lives. I sat and did nothing for 3 months, because they hired too many contractors. Employees didn't know what to do with me and if you are lucky to get trained on something you won't do it for very long. Very disorganized, poor training and inefficient work model. The company eventually was bought by LapCorp, but probably retained the same business practices since management wasn't replaced.

Pros

Different type of projects keep coming. Sometimes you can get lucky to work on an exciting opportunity and this could be a great place to work at.

Cons

Bad leadership. Upper management sucks. You can get easily lost into the mess. Put unnecessary pressure and overall very demanding.
