Pros

Compensation is very good in good times as it is heavily influenced by the results of the comany (variable pay) People are very good. A lot of long time employees.

Cons

There are a lot of politics based upon if you came from Lam or Novellus. In hindsight i think it was lucky for the middle management that the KT merger did not happen.

Cons

Can lose sight of work-life balance At times, it can seem like a culture of fear (of not knowing the details of everything) Commute can really be bad if you live North on 880 or 680. Really bad!

Lam provides great pay and advancement opportunity in the SF Bay Area. As a technician, workers are contracted for 6 months to 1 year, after which full time positions are available.

Cons

Lam is a high demand company which will require long and variable hours, sometimes at the expense of work life balance. Upper management seems to drive the engineers very hard due to escalations.
