Pros
Good pay and benefits, opportunity to learn but a limit to learning if you do not have an advanced degree since they prefer to hire/promote Phd. candidates.
Cons
Unless you approach your manger to tell them you want to be promoted, they assume/take the position that you just want to remain in the same role/position. Personally that makes no sense and is counter-intuitive, since I am guessing about 80%-90% of all employees at almost any company would like to move up in same way or fashion. This to me is a big culture flaw.
