Bad internal departmental communication. It was like pulling teeth to get anything from any other departments. Very little feedback from middle management about job performance and how to make it better. Per diem allowance makes it very difficult to feed oneself even eating at McDonalds in Europe and Asia. Days off without pay in a downturn minimized ones merit increases and profit sharing. Taking forced time off made it difficult to juggle planned vacations with ones family

The other extreme - if you have an insensitive manager who doesn't get-it or care, it can be the worst place to work. That by itself is not unique to Lam. What one needs to be aware of is that it is very hit or miss with managers/leaders here. You can get extremely amazing ones that lead and inspire, and extremely horrible ones that berate, micromanage, and are totally out for themselves. Fortunately most key sr leadership positions are great. The competence is generally high but expect your experience to be very hit or miss.
