Pros

wages are good but could still be better because of the work load home time staff discount only recently brought in staff clean

Cons

training is rubbish, having to train new staff is rubbish they need to have a dedicated source for training new as they are only allowed so many hours and a training mentor (which r the staff that could not give a hoot) has quarter of these watch a video tick a sheet and that's u passed the training joke . for managers it is totally inadequate (high wage, car, promise of a store in reality current store deeps could do a better job , but they have to pass a store manager development day that they have had no training for) current store managers also had to pass smdi day the managers that could talk the talk passed ( big pay rise and company car the failures kept their jobs (without pay rise or other perks) but still have to do the same work as those that passed. bizarre . work life balance zero. audits audits and audits how managers deal with this is beyond me. feel for them. deputy is the way to go as it does not matter what they do wrong there store manager gets the blame and we have no accountability but get paid really well

Cons

No work ethics, No proper orientation or induction for new starters. They expect you to work like a fully trained staff from day one.

Pros

Decent wage if you're under 25 but now they've brought the living wage in its not really any different to a min wage job of which there are plenty better

Cons

Zero work life balance You can be there at 5am or finishing at 22:30 or 2am Middle shifts are all done by management so you're either in super early or there super late if full time. Breaks are a thing of the past (half an hour on a 10shift. So you can spend 5 straight hours sat at the till then get your break then another 4 and a half hours straight). There is no respect from managers who prefer to see you as a robot than a human being. The emphasis is all on meeting the productivity targets, quite often this means all staff will be on till not on the shop floor thus the store is a state Area managers promise the world but are actually powerless to deliver as they need the store manager to okay you to be trained up
