Cons

If you are not quick enough when stacking products then be prepared to be shouted at. Have to do warehouse work. You will be working a job which usually is for 2 people

Pros

I've worked for lidl for 4 years. Starting on a 20 hour contract as a store assistant and progressing to being an Assistant Store manager, for which I've been for 2 years. Many reviews I have read in here aren't really a true reflection on how the company operates and it sounds like a lot of people's bad experiences come from poor store management and not from the company ideal. Ive found that if you work hard for this company then you will do very well. you are expected to work pallets in 20-30 minutes/ clean as you go/ serve customers in a polite and officiant manor/ quality check fresh areas every 30 minutes etc. Lidl pay well as you are expected to do everything's done do sit fast!! I as a manager am expected to do everything. I can start my day merchandising stock then cleaning out a blocked sluice and litter picking. To serving on the till then creating Rota's and prepping for KPI meetings. You don't have time to be a clipboard warrior like you see in other supermarkets which to be honest looks boring. The company is expanding rapidly creating opertunities for staff all the time. It's a great place to be in the world of retail at the moment. Unlike the giants like tesco and morrisons who are suffering greatly year on year.

Cons

Consistency in operation amongst stores can be improved. This is due to lack of training for managers. Training has been rolled out for poor performing store managers but not across the board. A proper training program is in place for store assistants but no for store management.
