Pros

Pay is okay but they can make you work 90 hrs a week for it. Opportunities for progress if your face fits. Helps if your an attractive female.

Cons

Ridiculous way to run a company, proper retailers run on around 12% labour. There idiots run on 5%. The senior management are out of touch with the shop floor management. They expect the impossible and hand out warnings constantly if it's not achieved 100% of the time. Every department is working against each other. Staff aren't supported, I've had find alternative employment as my ops manager wouldn't let me transfer to a neighbouring rdc to allow me to move home, despite there being over 30 suitable positions advertised. Back stabbing is loved by those in power, record everything in notes that is said or happens because you will need as evidence to defend your self. I've been made to 90 hrs a week, days with out a day off, and told it's okay someone else will take your job if you're not happy. You're not aloud to record overtime, without it being frowned upon and definitely don't take it back. Promotion is usually given to females that the operations manager or regional director fancies. Operations managers and dm's work together to set up store management to remove them. Trust know one outside of your store, and make sure you and your store team all cover each others backs. Auditors are purely out to get you into trouble and provide the evidence for them to get you out. Taking a break or having a drink in work is classed as weakness. All in all don't do it.
