Pros

The salary draws you in, that is a pro, some of the staff make your day bearable

Cons

Higher up. They have no idea what it’s like being on the shop floor every single day. They micromanage you on every single thing you do. It creates an awful atmosphere and makes you unmotivated. Then when you’re seen to be unmotivated, they’ll follow their ridiculous path to get rid of you. A current Head of Sales once told a Store Manager that everyone is just a replaceable number. People who have devoted so much of their effort and life into this company leave. The company is currently making more money than ever, but cutting more hours? They’ll tempt you in with a payrise, but it does not equate to what they put you through.

Pros

Salary but by taking your soul away.

Cons

Very fast paced work, with little or no support at all from Senior Stakeholders. A lot of micromanaging and peer pressure to achieve targets despite stores are unstructured and falling apart . No staff at all or repeated sicknesses. Company mainly focuses on cutting rather than investing , they take the soul out of their employee by increasing workload and reducing supports. Many disciplinary meetings to throw under the bus long term Managers/employees who have given everything in their sleeves, and use of investigation method to cover off senior stakeholders incompetency and inappropriate/unreasonable decision. The company is currently facing a backlash for their own bloodshed which has led many valuable managers/ employee to leave and it has created a skill gap which they will never be able to fill due to their poor business model towards their employee and approach to workload.

Pros

Offered upward growth if you put in the effort, was able to get to a senior position after two years with minimal previous experience, and significant pay raises; The people on a personal level were great to work with and all were in it together; Could get in your groove and find a routine for the calmer months

Cons

Very shaky company outlook following restructuring and changing direction from CEO and senior leadership; Always focused on trying to change and implement changes so rapidly, no one ever thought if it was a good idea to make these changes; Working on weekends (not every weekend, but probably once every 8-10 weeks), no one ever mentioned it during interviews because they knew people would run; Hours became very long (around ten hours) and would be crazy at stretches were lunch breaks were just not possible; Work would be very taxing to the point where you were doing work and just knew it wouldn't matter in a few days when you need to go in an opposite reaction
