Depends on the place, but some Lockheeds aren't as good as other Lockheeds in terms of work environment. Also, the performance reviews aren't always fair. They take into consideration, how useful is your project to the company in the end? You could do a great job on a not so important project and still be dinged in the performance review for that.

It is a very large company so don't expect everybody to know your name. There are a lot of things that small companies won't do, such as all of the HR type training dealing with harassment. People are generally busy all the time. I have felt closer to my peers at other companies by going to lunch/eating lunch as a group, going to co-workers houses for parties etc.
