Great pay and benefits. Occasionally working with cutting edge hardware. Autonomy to do the work you need to get done. Travel to unique places

Cons

Suffocating process, extremely dated corporate culture. Projects drag on for years. Software is often blamed for cost overruns Most things you work on are extremely old (C / ADA). Most people have a pension and are just trying to not get laid off before they hit their magic years of service. Huge compensation rift between pensioners and non-pensioners.

The projects that I worked on at LM were extremely exciting and felt like I was contributing to my country.

Cons

The commute from my house was 40 miles each way. There was a great work at home option, but sometimes could not be used.
