Pros

Multiple programs in the CO area. Generally you are able to jump between programs within the same division of the company. Amazing technology and challenging work. Fun place to work; day to day one may feel he or she are working on the most exciting program in the U.S.

Cons

Sometime accomplishments may be missed unless you are highly visible.

Pros

Overall, Lockheed Martin is a great company to work if you enjoy software development. They have a lot of different contracts in the Washington, DC area, so you have the opportunity to move to different programs if you want different experiences, or if you just want to develop a different skill set.

Cons

Your experience at the company will largely be dependent on which program you're working on, and the leadership within that program.

Pros

I was surrounded by very skilled people. There was almost no deadwood anywhere. Very cool technology. Everywhere the attitude of stepping up to the plate.

Cons

Not sure how they got so many highly skilled people, because their interview process sucked. No one was trained how to perform a good technical interview; random techies were simply asked to look at a few résumés and choose a couple to invite for interviews. The annual performance review process was a time-wasting, unscientific disaster, changed every year and never for the better. Some employees, while very skilled, are completely unaware of recent software development practices.
