      Great Learning Experience, but Fear of Lay-offs and Need to Move, Not Ideal

      Pros

      Competitive pay, employee discounts, job opportunities (but have to be willing to move or work virtually), good support of employee causes (financial support, volunteering opportunities), good training opportunities

      Cons

      Lay-offs were a continual fear, large environment can be difficult if not part of a good team, some senior managers have little training to deal with management issues or just don't manage employees at all

      Laid back, flex schedule, freedom

      Cons

      Horrible time card, you have to record every 10 minutes (i.e 0.2 hours) Egos. Promotions frozen for the past two years ZERO percent raises Lay offs, then they asked those laid off to come back again

      Pros

      Lots of opportunities across all the Lockheed locations in the US and abroad. First and second level management is excellent where I work (I expect it's similar in other jobs). The overall atmosphere is very welcoming. Coworkers have been very helpful and are always willing to share information. Moving into a new position within the company is very easy and management is always willing to help you advance your career.

      Cons

      Weird health insurance plan, sort of lame corporate slogans and programs for motivating employees. Upper level management sometimes doesn't seem as knowledgeable about what they're managing as they should be. CIO was a business major and doesn't really have any technical knowledge about IT which is often quite frustrating.
