intern events very regularly, we had movie get togethers, volunteer opportunities, a chance to get in the F35 simulations, and so on. Not to mention, some intern events had free lunches, dinners, pizza, cake, you name it.
Cons
You are forced to work no more than 40 hours a week unless given express permission from your manager (not easy)
9 hours a day instead of 8 (so that you have every other friday off)
The process to get access to things is long (due to the security concerns)
You cannot download programs from the internet, only from their selected safe programs (again due to security concerns)
