Working in one of the headquarters in Orlando or Dallas is filled with politics. Many additional levels of middle management that really have no clue what is going on and really only are looking out for their interest make it hard to get support for initiatives. A lot of times you will be the one with ideas for direction, and then your out of the loop manager will try to silo you and keep you from getting to the right people. A lot of politics, and ego. Don’t outshine the master. If they don’t get their act together, they are going to be outcompeted by the numerous smaller startups in the space.
