Pros

Compensation fair, leadership good, promotion is slow but company is not growing fast so this is typical. Work life balance is awesome and flexibility is tremendous

Cons

Training is good, benefits for health are not very good but they spend money likely a similar to other large companies, 401K is great.

Pros

The pay is decent but slow to top-out. Training and tooling has vastly improved and attempts from upper/corporate has improved as well.

Cons

Lockheed Martin in Marietta where I work is still in the "The Good Ole Boys" network where them "boys" are incompetent at their positions in leadership. And when caught in their incompetency, cover-ups and blind eyes occur.

Pros

Flexible in several aspects- approved to work part time when fit with both the project and a move cross country- ramped back up when the project took on more responsibility. Worked remotely when not at subcontractor or traveling. Very smart, capable, colleagues- many experts available companywide to tap from. Accessible training to stay updated, highly ethical. Always proud that there were many women in high level technical management at one of the largest defense companies.

Cons

Too large at times and unable to get common processing across the board. Felt like reinventing the wheel when you know it has been done elsewhere. Constantly working to improve the common processing. Spent a lot of time and money changing employee evaluation system - added much confusion without many benefits.

The company provides on-site training, or trainings on selected seminar, trainings offered by other private organizations, universities. Each employee has opportunities for personal growth. Each employee will have a mentor to help him/her during his/her career at Lockheed Martin.

Pros

Great training, good aerospace experience. Great people and support. Overall great company. Work-life balance depends on what programs or organizations you're in. In manufacturing and operations it can get pretty overwhelming with the expected amount of overtime you are to put in.

Cons

Not enough work to support plant. There is a severe lack of future work for Space Systems.

Pros

Great opportunities for salary, training, travel - flexibility in work location, family time is encouraged. 401k match and salary (including yearly increases and spot awards) are plentiful.

Cons

As with any contractor, the possibility for contract loss is always in the back of your mind. You have to be prepared to duck and move, keep your resume' updated, it'll come in handy.

Good but not great

Pros

All the benefits of working for a big company like training opportunity, lots of locations if you're willing to move, plenty to do if you want to try something new. Very good flexibility (everyone gets a laptop and full flex hour control). Pretty good school reimbursement program given most companies are eliminating this now.

Cons

As with any big company the bureaucracy is insane. Also take into account the customer (military) so in most cases LM ends up mirroring that type of infrastructure.
