No flexibility when it comes to use processes and procedures which are standard practice in the commercial industry but not to their government contractor environment; depends solely on defense contracts; bullies subcontractor; internal procedures make the comply non-competitive in the commercial market.

LM provides opportunities to work on large-scale complex projects of national importance. Employees are encouraged to take advantage of training opportunities. Most employees are highly qualified. This organization offers different career advancement paths depending on interests/qualifications (e.g. scientists, engineers, MBAs).
Cons
Annual reviews require managers to identify a specific percentage of employees as poor performers (even if they estimate that some individuals do not deserve to be categorized as such...)

Flexible schedules, plenty of interesting work and contracts. There are plenty of smart people that you get to work with. With locations all over the world there can be opportunities to travel and work in many different locations.
Cons
Slow salary growth, heavy corporate overhead. It is a large company and it often feels like it. With governments slashing budgets, many benefits are going with it. Corporate training and performance reviews are poorly implemented.
