Pros

pay is excellent as far as retail goes, good as a part-time job esp. if you're in school or have a full-time job will be promoted if managers like you, not necessarily if you're a hard worker great health, vision and dental benefits

Cons

would not recommend as a full-time job unless you have thick skin and are able to handle verbal abuse from both management and ocasionally customers not a good job if you're a pleasant person since it backfires on you at lowe's managers tend to not communicate with associates regarding changes taking place within the store be prepared to have all work not completed during the day workers to fall on you if you're closing managers and customers can be very rude and condescending you are very underappreciated if you're doing a good job unless you are a brown-noser

Pros

Lowes is a great company, with a high level of integrity, the pay is good for retail, the benefits are good for retail, the opportunities to grow as a person, and on a career stand point are good. Great leadership from the VP's and up.

Cons

not enough associates in the stores to provide the level of customer service expected.

Pros

Lots of room to advance if you work hard and your reasonably intelligent. They have a promotional/educational system set in place where you can apply to their "school" and if accepted you go through a short class to make you ready to become a department manager, zone manager etc.

Cons

Its a little warm being that its basically a warehouse. at the end of the day you feel like taking a shower as soon as you get home. in addition, walking around on the concrete floor isn't the best for you feet.
