Pros

I've found it to be a place where they take time to find assignments that use your best talents and skills. This way you are not trying to fit a round peg in a square slot. If you show enough initiative there is always an opportunity to learn. It is a pleasant place to work. Although the economy is noticeably slower and hours have been noticeably cut it is at least in the spirit of keeping everyone working without layoffs. At least that is the way it is in my store.

Cons

Not having a set schedule

Pros

At the store level, Lowes generally offers employees without traditional education opportunities for advancement that they would not get elsewhere. Training for advancement is offered to all. As a retail environment, Lowe's encourages their employees to create positive experiences with customers and emphasizes interaction that gives the customer the information and products they need. It can be downright fun to help someone complete a project successfully.

Cons

The store hours are increasing and the store coverage is decreasing. Micro-management seems to be the order of the day with negative impact on morale and retension.
