Pros

Great culture and integrity-based senior management. There are great career paths for those in the stores, in distribution or in the stores. While other companies tend to be competitive, Lowe's is a very collaborative environment. It is a company you can be proud to say you work for. Team Lowe's Racing has a poroud tradition to follow. Everyone in the corporate office knows we are ultimately working for the store and distribution employees and really for our customers.

Cons

Retail is tough and not for everyone, but Lowe's get's it right. I have worked at a number of other Fortune 500 companies and Lowe's is right up there with the best. There really are no real downsides. Corporate politics? You've got that anywhere.

Pros

I received a decent salary while working there through college. Great co-workers who made time go by quickly.

Cons

Unqualified upper management who are more concerned with their own bonuses rather than their employees. I was employed there for 1.5 years and only had 2 weekends off--weekends meaning Saturday and Sunday, not including Friday. I had much more knowledge of the plumbing department than any manager working there.

Pros

There is opportunity for fast advancement and good training programs. As a company they have good values and provide a good service. People are treated fairly. Many people come over from our rival, as they treat their employees quite badly. Management has never really failed me. with the exception of me wanting to step down, they are really dragging their feet.

Cons

They have a really bad scheduling system. It is the worst thing I have ever seen. They make you work morning, mid shifts and nights. You never really know when you will work. my store had severe people scheduling problems.
