Pros

Mary Kay is a great internship in Dallas. I had the opportunity to really make the most of my time, meeting lots of people high up in the company. The open-door policy of being able to talk to anyone, no matter your title, is a huge plus when you're at the bottom of the food chain. Pros: great pay for interns, positive environment, kind people, solid HR, good training for new employees

Cons

My department had a bit of a "clique" feel to it so I never felt like I was completely able to click with my department since they were already so close... not a bad thing for working there but tough for an intern. The company is also extremely conservative - which can be a good thing in a lot of ways but the dress-code was fairly outdated (skirts or dresses for women - only allowed to wear pants if you have a matching sweater or jacket). I had several weeks where I worked over 50 hours because of seminar - which made the work-life balance harder. (I had only planned to work 40 hours a week since i was taking summer school). Overall though, I loved it - the people are great, seminar is a BLAST, and I loved getting to learn from my department.

Pros

Not a myth, benefits are good if you exercise and take care of yourself. Prepare to share some details.

Cons

Group Think was somewhat rampant. Lack of diversity among leadership positions. Real information sharing doesn't really exist, not really a con but the way the company operates. Departments seem more combative with each other rather than collaborative.

Pros

Pay, benefits, work place is old but well kept, at manufacturing. Corporate facilites very nice. Cafeterias were partially funded by the company, food was good, prices were very good. I believe that the current very top level executive does a great job.

Cons

Stress. They "claim" to practice the Golden Rule, but only in the opposite of what is meant! Work life balance they also preach but there is none in some departments. Everything depends on the VP you work for. If you advance in your career, how much you make, your level of satisfaction working there seems to be determined by who you work for. If you are not extremely well liked, but very competant in your work skills you will not go far. They still live in the 1970's. Too many of management have been there, and only there, too long.
