Pros

I set my own schedule; I take time off without needing prior approval; my work travels with me; my network of fellow Mary Kay consultants/directors/etc. are a TON of fun and very supportive--always willing to help me grow my business; the company is uplifting and encouraging and ready to assist in any way; the products truly sell themselves!

Cons

If you do not have the self motivation to go out and work, it can be difficult to find enough customers to make a comfortable living.

Pros

I began a Mary Kay business with no sales experience, not knowing how I was going to grow my business. I am amazed at this company and what it stands for. Mary Kay Ash, the founder, created this oppourtunity for one reason. To give women a chance to make it big while placing God first and our family second. The company operates by the golden rule, to do unto others as you would want done on to you. Within my first year I earned a free car and then became a Director shortly therafter. The money has been amazing. This oppourtunity gives so much support to women by encouaging them to use their God given talents. I often say this is a self help course you get paid to take. My business is flying even in today's economy and I thank God I get to wake up with my babies everyday and decide how I will manage my day. If my girls don't feel good, no problem!!! Mommy is there, guiilt free!!! Where can you work today and be surrounded by positive energy? Where can you work today and promote yourself whenever you feel like it? Take a close look at Mary Kay, it is a life changing oppourtunity!!!

Cons

You are the one that makes it work. They have everything in place for your success, but untimately, you have to be disciplined, focused and eagar for a better quality of life as you build your own business. You are in business for yourself but you are not by yourself. If you don't work you don't get paid.
