Pros

Easy to work around other commitments and pick up extra hours when needed. Relatively well paid for the job in hand. Shift Manager can earn upwards of £23k including holiday pay.

Cons

Evenings and weekends busiest times so expected to work these more often than week days. Often on shifts where sickness and non-attendance is rife, this can lead to more stressful shifts.

Pros

reasonably flexible hours are possible, but work schedules had to be agreed at least 2 weeks in advance. Some of the people who worked there were also very nice.

Cons

At peak times it was a very intense environment. Some of the people who worked there were a bit intimidating. The job was also very monotonous, although this is probably to be expected for a fast food chain.
