Pros

Medtronic used to be a great company to work for as a software engineer, is has now become an okay to good company to work for but is trending downward quickly. - Compensation is fair but nothing special - Work life balance can be good depending on team - Benefits are good

Cons

- Executive leaders don't listen to any feedback and think they know how to do your job better than you - Culture has lost its way, feels like it's more about the money than the patients - Resistant to change, if senior leaders had their way the software org would be run like an aging hardware company

Pros

Work is mostly done in silos. Easy to work independently

Cons

RA team is incredibly disorganized and unhelpful. The people are mostly cold and quite mean spirited. They do not treat one another with respect and is very easy to sense most of the team hates each other. Very poor work Environment . Team is missing any semblance of leadership or competence.

Pros

Strong mission that genuinely focuses on improving lives through innovative healthcare technology. Supportive peers and collaborative engineering and operations teams. Access to robust tools, training, and exposure to Lean Six Sigma practices.

Cons

Management needs to improve (Toxic) - Inconsistent management practices and lack of transparency in decision-making, especially when it comes to recognizing contributions and team dynamics. Limited visibility into performance evaluations or opportunities for internal career growth. Multiple experiences of favoritism or bias can impact morale, particularly when not all team members are treated with equal fairness or accountability. Management communication can sometimes feel reactive rather than proactive, especially during changes or restructuring.
