Pros

It was a very empowerful end friendly work environment, the product is great, the process is very sofisticated. They treat the employee with respect and are very professional. The only reason I left was an offer from my previous eloger to become a manager (from QA ENG to Eng Manager it was a huge jump and they coud not afford it or have higer positions open)

Cons

That they do not have a facility in south florida were I just oved, I really would like to go bac to work with them

Pros

1) It looks good on your resume. 2) Good benefits that come with a large company. 3) In my experience in my division, there is good work-life balance.

Cons

1) Lack of communication from upper management. Often non-management are notified at the very last moment about organizational changes and decisions. 2) Bureaucracy. 3) Very slow to implement changes. 4) Hard to obtain money for the department, for employee salaries, for training, etc. The budget is too much of a hard boundary.

Pros

Medtronic was a GREAT place to work and I would return in a heartbeat if there were some changes made to the management team. The customer focus was second to none, the technological advances within the company were way ahead of others in the industry and the benefits were excellent!

Cons

Internal talent overlooked because management team didn't want to deal with training their subordinates for growth opportunities. It became a common practice for every person in our department to be hired at a senior level so the management team didn't have to do any training - employee could "hit the door running". Of course, this often resulted in lower level employees having to train (or do the work) of the higher level, higher paid co-workers.
