After 3/4 months of being hired my job description from what I was hired for, drastically changed. My manager, who also ended up quitting, just had us presenting in pointless meetings to the sales teams and other marketing teams about what our roles were, which took up so much time, then told us we had to be and act like a "sales team" without the compensation. Things literally did a 180 at the beginning of the year. The marketing department is much more concerned with who gets "credit" for a "hard mql", which is only a demo request, not any true marketing attribution. I applaud them for trying to hire from the outside vs. the people who have been there for 10+ years, but it seems like the outsiders don't really get a chance to get into the club. I also disliked that people would build cases against those not even on their team or management to get them fired, which is why I ultimately left. I didn't feel like I had a safe space. Also, they rely way too much on Slack. It is almost impossible to keep up with.
