Rocket ship - Hang on tight!

Pros

The company has the following assets: - Blue Chip customer base - High bar on hiring - lots of very smart people to learn from - Drives an ownership culture (see problem, fix problem, don't whine) - Simple and gigantic market strategy, and has boiled it down to 3 key solution areas (the right ones IMO) - Product just 'bleeping' works (customers words, not just mine) - Execs seem to care about employees beyond just getting work done (feels family like)

Cons

- Company moves a 1,000MPH. It can be tough to hang sometimes and requires real commitment - It sometimes feels like there's gaps in the organization, and the expectation is to just 'figure it out' vs. well though out for you (many here see this as a 'pro') - Pace is driving a ton of change quickly, can be exhausting

Great potential, but execution lacking

Pros

- Everyone is polite and friendly, and the CEO is about the nicest you will meet or work under. - The enterprise integration software space is interesting and Mule *should* be at the forefront of it. - Good product strategy leadership; Ross and Uri know their stuff. - If you are a sales or marketing pro, this is a great place to learn about selling software and building a brand. - If you are very ambitious and ready for the massive challenge of doing battle against IBM and Oracle, you will thrive at Mule. This will take 24/7 effort, however. - Lots of free swag!

Cons

- Corporate culture is somewhat conceited. Lots of cheer-leading, not a lot of detailed or planned execution. - There are very smart software developers on the team, but they seem incapable of shipping a product that is production ready. I have never worked on such buggy software in ~15 years in the business. Actually, that is not true, I have, but actually expect better of Mule. They should have higher software delivery standards. - Sales Ops are overworked, leading to constant mistakes in compensation calculations. - The SF office looks nice but is actually kinda cheaply put together.

Most challenging and rewarding job ever

Pros

You will not be bored and you will be challenged People are as nice as they are intelligent (high bar for each) across the board from receptionist to CEO The products are innovative and valuable--ones you can be proud of Everyone is challenged to go beyond simply doing their job well--they are challenged to change the game and often do Opportunity to define your role and display initiative Unlike many startups this one is clearly on the right track with a very promising future Smart people and great company and yet the arrogance is missing. This is enormously refreshing Only the best are hired. You will work with some great people and you will demand more from yourself Beautiful office in great downtown location

Cons

Growth is explosive and staffing efforts struggle to keep up To do your job right under these circumstances you wind up putting in a lot more hours, it can be exhausting Hiring standards are very high, except when they hired the bathrooms Some problems are dealt with in too reactive a fashion
