Pros

It's a shorter working week because you do longer days—excellent life skills, learning to deal with stressful situations and managing priorities. Skills very transferable to other areas of work or other professions.

Cons

Irregular rota, which makes it hard to find a rhythm for the shift work. Can make the disruption to your natural circadian rhythms much more pronounced.
