DD acquisition has ruined the company

Pros

- Great people, culture and people stick together as they want to see the company succeed - Nice office in Bank - Flexible working (but only more so since covid), previously it was 1/2 days a week maximum - Easy access to higher management (CEO/VP's) if in need of escalations -etc whether something is done about it is a different matter. - Reasonably OK annual bonus

Cons

- No career aspirations - No salary review - JFDI attitude - You can escalate all you want, but nothing is ever done about it - DD came onboard and drastically changed the way NTT have always delivered. - Drastic decision to enforce consolidation and outsource most of the services off-shore - about 40+ different tools, you spend most your time on duplicate reporting rather than doing the job you are paid to do - No alignment between managers - Messages are always confusing - lack of honesty & transparency with their employees - Processes are not clear, since the merger couple of years ago - no one still knows what they are doing or how to. - The customers who should be at the heart of what NTT do are losing trust. - No gender equality/Diversity within the upper management team

Pros

Salaries and benefits were good.

Cons

If a consultant was on the "bench" for more than 2+ weeks, they were preparing to release them. After 4+ weeks, the employee can stay, but is put on a no-salary arrangement until such time they leave or find more internal work.

Not what it was

Pros

No doubt that the history of Dimension Data is distinguished and they still have a strong presence with some of the major technology vendors in the market. There are still some very good people there but there has been major churn of people.

Cons

Current Australian CEO and COO returned to Australia following their failed Cloud Business Unit global roles. In the time they were away from the Australian business, their successors had done a lot of work to break the old boy club and culture of fear that they had previously instilled in Australia. Once the CBU initiative failed, they were sent back to Australia and within months the old culture returned. Some great leaders were moved along and the old club returned. If you join Dimension Data you will not progress a career. The old boy club will prevent all but minor advancement. Be prepared to work long hours for average pay and little significant career prospect. Be prepared for a lot of change as the announced NTT integration takes place. Be prepared to be bullied particularly if you are in Sales. If you are a technologist, be aware that DD is very old school. The cutting edge work is now done by other companies. DD stalled about four years ago when they focused only on their homegrown cloud and the industry moved on with Azure and AWS.
