Pros

Pay is ok, vacation for time with company is ok if you can actually take it and it’s not denied

Cons

Managers are promoted after multiple complaints, instead of watched closely, poor communication by managers especially to remote workers. Do not provide a good work/life balance- it’s all about sucking up who gets the time off or the best hours. After layoff due to NTT and client contract expiring, managers are terrible communicating next steps, HR closes multiple tickets before contacting employee then does nothing, HR hired to help employee find internal jobs or supply employee with layoff information DOES NOT have the compassion or information, telling the person to put in an HR ticket (which is then closed without contact) These HR transition people are outsourced so the culture is different, thus the empathy is TERRIBLE in such a tough time as the employee losing their job. Poor severance. Training is done for remote employees by watching videos, in the 7 years I have been with this company I have never gone to the Plato office because they will not pay for it nor will they paid for any other training for career advancement.

Pros

Home office based....that's the only positive I can think of........

Cons

If you are a woman stay far away, your technical knowledge and expertise is belittled by the teams overseas and at every turn, you're undercut. Also there are no corporate credit cards - you are also expected to fund your own travel to very expensive places; you are reimbursed, but you are the one carrying the balance and eating up your credit balance until the reimbursement is paid. Just not a happy place with layoffs hitting the US-based employees more than anywhere else around the globe.

Thank you for taking time to share your review. Gender balance is a challenge for many organizations inside and outside our industry. Our internal Inclusion @ Work team continuously ensures Dimension Data is an organization defined by learning, leading and living with inclusion and diversity. We're also extremely proud of the numerous female role models from Dimension Data that are recognized each year on the CRN Women of the Channel list.

Pros

Great Colleagues. Free Soft drink/Coffee/Biscuits. Kitchen with plates and cutlery provided. Microwave & toaster. Occasional lunch provided to employees on Fridays. Start and finishing times are not micro managed (This could change, due to some staff abusing this whilst I was there).

Cons

Long hours. A lot of overtime required. Upper management doesn't want to know you. You're just a number and easily replaced. Bullying from inexperienced team leaders that are under pressure from upper management to get you to work harder and give up your weekends for low hourly overtime pay. Poor work/life balance. Base salaries are well-below industry average and most are forced to work overtime/on-call to supplement their income to make ends meet. This is a controversial one, but worth mentioning. Company saves money by exploiting 457 migrants to fill higher paying roles (E.g Team Leader role) and pays well-below industry standard.
