Pros
Flexible hours was about the one good thing with this job. Not that it was a huge advantage for me as I lived within walking distance of the office, but it's nice for people who have to commute.
Cons
Salary was the worst I had in 15 years, even with 15 more years' experience in the field. Very soon after joining I was assigned a task which a lot of other people would refer to as a "death march" which was both important to the business and lacking any kind of formal requirements, so you can imagine how well that worked out. We were working for a financial so the procedures for getting things done were byzantine, yet there really wasn't anyone who had solid knowledge of processes and could communicate them beyond pointing you to an intranet web page. Middle management was well-meaning but frankly overburdened,
