      Good management principles, aligns to strategy really well, agile paced, feel more responsible, good opportunities for career growth, good place for learning

      Nothing much I can think of.

      Pros

      Interestign work. Lost of freedom, no micromanaging of tasks. Communication in the team is good (between engineers and direct manager at least). Pay. Trust.

      Cons

      Intra-company competition. Managers must fit team members' performance to specified distribution for reviews (which is proven to be useless). Product management seems to be mostly incompetent, though my sample size is very small here. People clinging to posts, leading to high friction and forcing engineers to strategically consider everything they communicate, instead of being open. Ridiculous forcing everyone to do "something" with the newest hype, even if it doesn't help with their problem at all.

      Pros

      The right environment is created to aid in helping one complete their lifes work. A community of like minded - world class experts, coming together to solve the problems of tomorrow. There's a degree of flexibility as to what your working on, and the opportunity to create your own work from innovative ideas and projects.

      Cons

      If anything, I'd say work/life balance can be a bit tricky when deadlines are tough, but what job doesn't have that?
