Pros

Pretty laid back environment but I think (as elsewhere) it depends on which project you are in. Compensation is higher than industry average. In my time here, I haven't had to follow too many idiotic "processes", which is refreshing for a change, especially considering its CMMI-5 you expect it to be LOADED with tons of meaningless processes - good job there. Relatively (by which I mean in comparison to other service based outsourcing companies) relaxed regarding time spent in office which is great for work-home life balance. Corporate parties are nice but the "free" alcohol runs out within an hour or two - can you imagine?

Cons

Where do I start? Let's see: 1. By far the WORST HR deptt. that I have come across in industry in my 10 plus years of experience. They almost NEVER respond to emails and messages. They have ZERO knowledge - they LITERALLY don't know ANYTHING - whatever you ask them, they either do not know, randomly redirect you to somebody, or worse, MISLEAD you. Even after escalation, NOTHING is done. There is no escalation matrix for HR, only a generic email id is given for escalations which is pretty much useless as all that happens in the end is that the concerned HR replies to your query with "Huh?". They have outsourced their payroll functions to a third party which is as USELESS as the in-house HR, so any query regarding payroll will just keep circulating endlessly between the two. The outsourced payroll web interface is PATHETIC to say the least. The HR will tell you all sorts of rosy stories (all LIES) while trying to trap you during hiring and then post hiring you will be dumped in a project which has no relation to your technical experience. 2. They have this stupid concept of "partial" allocations of resources in projects which one of the most bizarre things that I have ever seen. They don't do this to everybody, but to whoever it happens is driven closer to the edge of insanity. Can you imagine a person whose time is split between different projects with rations like 50-50, 25-25-50, etc. They actually expect somebody to divvy up their 8 hours in these proportions and move from project to project throughout the day (which are, by the way, sometimes spread among far flung buildings - so the poor guy/gal actually has to shuttle from one building to another throughout the day). How can they expect somebody to focus and get anything meaningful done? 3. Many of the projects are complete and utter CRAP with obscure technologies. It almost feels like they take up garbage projects which have been rejected by other companies. Also, they have a habit of over-committing to clients and then pushing devs to pay for their sales/marketing team's mistakes. 4. Its located in pretty much the worst area (at least for an IT company) in Gurgaon. 5. Food and snacks in the cafeteria are the POOREST quality that I have come across. Make sure to bring lunch from home if you join this company. 6. They are now cost cutting on - of all things - DUSTBINS. Can you imagine where this company is headed? 7. Company transport is outsourced to Ola and Shuttl - which is pathetic as well. I'm sure I'm missing a few but I think you get the picture. My advice? Stay the hell away from this company, except if you are an HR. If you are an HR here, you probably won't have to do anything except collect the paycheck, which is pretty good I must admit.

Dear colleague, you seem to have been really frustrated about a long list of things. Including the location (which is next to the passport office and Regus and Siemens and Tupperware) to the reduction in the number of dustbins (which, if you were following Yammer, you would know was to reduce the environmental impact of thousands of nearly empty plastic bags each day) to when free alcohol is stopped at the annual party (to prevent ugly incidents). My guess is that the partial allocations you talk of would apply to less than 5 percent of all folks in the company, and I think you will find this practice fairly common in the industry for high-end experts as you seem to have been. You say the original owners don't give a damn, while I am here at 5:30 am in Belgium replying to this post while still in bed, while being on a trip to meet a customer. You say we will probably get destroyed in the next downturn but we grew 40 percent last year and hit our best figures this month. I will look into your HR gripe but will meanwhile hope that you find a job elsewhere that meets your demanding needs.

Pros

Good learning opportunities, knowledgable people around you.

Cons

Full of Politics, Managers keep on threatening employees about their quarter rating. They literally mentally torture employees like, treat us like god else we will not rate you good. They don't know how to talk with employees, extremely rude behaviour even with female employees. Someone should sue this company for mentally torturing human beings. Some managers really need to see some psychiatrist else they will screw up whole Nagarro image and culture.

Dear colleague, I am a little taken aback by the extreme frustration depicted in this review - torture is such a strong word. I do think that there can be people ('managers') in the company who don't embody Nagarro's culture. But (as you also say) the problem is likely limited to a 'few dumbs.' And whatever damage a few people can do, we should be able to overcome by the majority of individuals who are aligned. So, the situation overall in the company likely isn't as bad as it seems for your particular case. Which is not to say that we shouldn't address the issue. And there are avenues that we have to address them. For instance, you can and should reach out to someone in HR or senior management to discuss any inappropriate behavior from your 'manager' - for example, rudeness (regardless of the gender it is directed to) is not tolerated at Nagarro. You also have the option to disagree with the performance evaluation your 'manager' gives and HR then mediates the discussion. I suggest that you reach out to me or anyone else in HR to talk about the problem you are facing, and we can try to sort it out.
