The internal system of salary reviews and appraisals makes it very hard to get a promotion or meaningful pay rise without switching jobs internally, so if you the type of person who likes to stick with the same job year in year out then your starting pay grade will be the same for years. There appear to be a lot of waste of space middle managers, who manage by spreadsheet and are incapable of decision making. (Friends in other departments have told me the same). If you get one of them as your immediate line manager then your job will be much harder than it needs to be.

Companies always implement changes, but these changes only affect people on the bottom the most. People on the top are just playing musical chairs, swapping roles. -Management are rarely responsible for any bad decision they have made. They stay in their job whereas engineers are blamed by being laid off. -Bad Salary to start with. Average yearly pay rise was about 1~3%. This is pathetic. -Managers are selfish, only care about their own promotion.
