Pros

Paid on time. Management is well taken care of.

Cons

I never wanted to work for Nuance. My sweet little MT company was gobbled up by this monster and so I was forced into working for them. I will be leaving in a week. So many things wrong with this company. PTO? You get 8.5 hours every 4 months! Seriously?!? And if there is too much work then you are forbidden to use PTO. Management does not care if you are dying. You must pump out those lines! I can't fit into this little box all of the reasons why you should go with another company, just do. I have been doing this over 12 years and this is the worst company I have ever worked for. There is no holiday pay. If you send more than 2 reports to QA in a week your pay goes from 0.085 to 0.07.

Pros

Used to be fun working at home but now losses are present on the income sheet.

Cons

Hospitals have started hiring in-house transcriptionist back at their facilities. These are your job pickers and they leave the hard ones and surgeries to all the homeworkers which are not fair at a lower wage. The MT getting paid at 21 dollars an hour should be getting the tough stuff while the home workers making slave labour should be getting the easy stuff.

Pros

Flexible hours, work environment. Get your work done and nobody bothers you Work from home option available to some (if you live within 40 minutes of an office, probably not) I haven't worked with anyone I don't like, everyone has been competent

Cons

Sales overpromises on incomplete products (management wants clients to fund product development without telling them, it seems like) Some roles are constantly overworked (not mine, but my manager's is), causing bottlenecks or poor work-life balance for them IT investment is low - our tools are built for a higher resolution display than the laptops we are issued have Getting hired was a long process, and the two people I have recommended for positions here were either forgotten about (far along in the interview process, which was over the course of 3 weeks) or treated poorly. Despite bringing this issue up in the appropriate channels, I haven't seen any meaningful attempt to address the issue, which is a shame, because this is a solid place to work. At this time I am unable to recommend referring anyone to work here. Benefits for remote employees have been significantly cut since I started here.
