Pros

5 weeks of vacation; strong technical coworkers

Cons

pathetic IT, HR, finance support; inconsistent and discouraging communication from management; constant stream of high-anxiety work with no respite; employees are thought of as cogs to help Paul Ricci make money; constant acquisition of new companies leaves things in turmoil; the opportunity for career growth and advancement is very limited due to how management is structured (i.e. the only way for a "regular" employee to get a meaningful promotion is for someone above you to leave or die); salaries are lower than at comparable companies;

Pros

Nuance emphasizes a proper work/life balance. It's a voice recognition tech company that has relationships with some of the most advanced companies in the world. The technology is very exciting.

Cons

Advancing up the ladder is close to impossible. Also, switching to a different division is very difficult as well. If you like what you are doing and would like to do it for a career without advancing outside of your expertise Nuance is the place for you. Also, recent expense restrictions have reduced the amount of corporate benefits you might expect from such a large company. Finally, Nuance grows by acquiring companies and your job security could change in a heartbeat.

Pros

Nuance was a dream company! The CEO had a heart, they were a company that cared. L

Cons

Everything!! Microsoft had to stick ther greedy grubby paws in and has destroyed them. They care about the bottom line that’s it. The entire operations team was dispensable to them so we were transitioned to another company. That’s over 1000 people. Till the day I die I will NEVER purchase another product from Microsoft and I will make sure my friends and family don’t either. The best advice I ca give you is stay away. Let this be proof that they place no value on their employees.
