Pros

Excellent supervisors, average pay scale.

Cons

Nonexistent training, difficult ESL dictators;pay scale rigged to keep you at minimum wage; must juggle multiple accounts and remember different rules for each to maintain enough work to keep you busy. Some accounts have a no blank requirement. More and more work is being outsourced to India.

Pros

Only one pro, working from home.

Cons

Wow where to begin! If you like being chained to your computer this is the company for you. Unrealistic expectations, unrealistic line count goals, unrealistic QA. If you are not perfect don't waste your time working for Nuance. If you enjoy being told there will be a lot of work you are being lied to because work you had one minute will be gone the next off shore. If you enjoy being QAd by off shore staff who changes your work to grammatically incorrect terms yet you get counted off for it, go with another company. If you want to get paid for your experience it will not happen at this company. If you have a bad QA score for any reason, your mistake or not it drops your pay scale for the entire pay period. Watch your lines very carefully as mysteriously lines "disappear". The pay scale is the most confusing thing you will ever see and it is that way for a reason, so you can get cheated from getting paid for your work. If you expect good technical support, forget it. So many issues with their platforms yet that does not matter when you are getting paid per line. The more issues you have the less they have to pay you. Oh and they are already involved in a class action lawsuit regarding unfair wages and there are surely more to come. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this company as you can. Find a company who actually cares about their employees and wants to pay you for your work. Offshore staff should not be the priority in this day and age.

Unhealthy, Combative and Abusive Culture

Pros

Unique business that provide services to a surprising number of the fortune 500.

Cons

Nuance encourages a culture of anger and distrust. Communication between coworkers, management and vendors are combative and abrasive. Bullying is very common. When projects don't gain traction or move slowly, finger-pointing is usually best method to remove blame. Salary is below market rate. Bonus are not monetary, but stock with all employees getting stock at the same time - which tanks the value and is worthless. Process is just on paper, resulting in a complete lack of standards, process or change control. A skeletal workforce - means fighting fires with little time to properly plan, document, test and implement projects nor any time to maintain the current environment- only creating more, difficult to fight fires.
