Pros

Access to cutting edge speech IP and groups integrated through acquisition. In terms of technology potential in the speech-centered zeitgeist, lots of promise…..

Cons

….sadly, it's all an illusion. Nuance is fixated on the bottom line and penny-pinching. Terrible amounts of politicking in management, and consequently no room for a real vision or strategy. Sad, considering the bounty of IP at its disposal. An underperforming juggernaut.

Pros

You can work from home. They give PTO to everyone.

Cons

They treat their US transcriptionists like they are working a data entry job. The QA is terrible. Horrific pay scale. Health benefits suck, every expensive for little coverage.

Frustrating.

Pros

Able to work from home. Benefits okay. Compensation tolerable.

Cons

*Little to no response from supervisors and management on issues that are challenging. *Required to stay logged into an instant messenger, yet supervisor and operations manager are rarely logged on. *Inconsistent quality department. Lack of response from this department regarding any challenges or questions. *No communication from HR whatsoever regarding application for other positions. After application is submitted, the only communication received is an automatic reply message. After that, you get no information whatsoever as to the status of your application. *Way too many management positions. This company is extremely top heavy and that is where all the money goes. *Probably most important is the fact that the transcriptionists (or MLS as they call us) are considered only an asset to this company. If it were not for the MLS, the management positions and company would not exist. *Pay for experience does not exist. Those of us who have proven to have consistent good quality and consistent above-minimum production get the same pay as those who come out of school with no experience. We are constantly hearing about mistakes that are making the clients mad that are obviously made by those who are new. *There is absolutely no positive feedback from management to the MLS. The only feedback my supervisor gives is her generic emails regarding our scores and these emails are only positive when she is satisfied with the scores - which is rare. There are probably many more items that could be listed here, but in a nutshell, this company has destroyed any self-confidence and pride I personally ever had in this profession.
