Pros

I received an invitation from a recruiting manager at Nuance about one month ago. He had seen my resume' online. He sent me the link for the testing and told me that upon my completion, he would "do his best to get me in the door." He told me that there were plenty of positions available in my requested field of Radiology. I took the test, both multiple choice and transcription and passed both well beyond the 85% required to pass. I have not received any acknowledgement from Nuance regarding my testing, nor has there been any attempt to "get me in the door." I have attempted multiple times through e-mail and by phone to make contact with no luck. I am a very good transcriptionist with nearly 20 years experience. This is not the way to treat a potential employee.

Cons

Nuance is good at making its company seem superior, but they don't have any respect for people who truly want to work and have the experience to do the job. Their recruiters do not answer the phone, return e-mails, and despite the promises, promises to try to "get a potential employee in the door," the job never materializes. It feels more like getting you "out the door." I think their lack of communication with me, when they initiated the possibility of a job from the beginning, is a deplorable way to treat a potential candidate.

Good learning but bad work culture

Pros

You will learn a lot in a short span of time, as there is always work cut out for you. People are nice to work with. Work from home option , which help well in some snow storm days in MA.

Cons

Too much for very little pay. Might end up working more than 70hrs/week. Too much acquired firms working in different environment, with different way of getting things done. No standard approach, everything they want it now.

Pros

Direct deposit and working from home are the only positives.

Cons

new pay scale which means one never knows from week to week how much they are earning - went from being paid hourly to production. So if you are trying to get a loan for a car, refi your house, whatever, you can't tell the loan company what you make in a month because you don't know. It consistently changes. They are outsourcing more and more to India, their "Global partner". Poor management. Poor employee relations. Everything seems to be kept in the dark with only sharing a tad bit of info.
